Welcome to Villa Tuili!

The address (Hieppeentie 27 A, 51540 Kalvitsa) can be found by following the signs. To 27 turn right after a small blue shelter. There is a wooden bunny in the yard of the cottage as a landmark.

Please bring your own bed linen and toiletries. Grocery shopping is easy to do in Graani (see below) or in Haukivuori on your way to the cottage. In the middle of the week, the nearest store is Haukivuori S-market 13 km north in the direction of Pieksämäki.

The switchboard for the electricity is outside on the right, and its key is found in the cottage, just above the outside door, hanging from the nail with a yellow keychain. The switchboard has a sliding plastic panel with an electrical switch underneath it. You can turn on the electricity by pressing the red small button under the panel for about 5–10 seconds. Pressing the same knob will put the electricity off when leaving

All of Villa Tuili's doors have their own marked key. The key cabinet is located in the second door of the small room. The water pump works after electricity has been switched on. Pure drinking water comes into the cottage from its own well. The refrigerator is turned on with a token that is on the window sill. The basement is also an excellent place to store drinks and food.

The toilet (puucee) can be found in the red shed.

Heating:

A fireplace is used to heat up the cottage. This is not recommended during the summer time. If the cottage feels cool, a few laundries are enough to bring warmth. Firewood can be found behind the red shed. Before the actual fire is done, the fireplace is warmed up by burning some paper in the ashtray of the fireplace. This allows the airlock to be burned open and the conduit to warm up. Fireplace dampers can be found on the kitchen side and both of them should be opened. Cardboard and bark are the best primers. If smoke comes in abundantly, you can try to give oxygen to the fire by opening the middle ashtray below.

The fireplace in the cottage affords very good heat. There is a risk of overheating and then the cottage can become painfully hot. Warmth comes through the bricks after a little delay. When the thermometer shows +19°c, you should stop heating. When the fireplace is completely out, the dampers can be closed. Thereby the heat remains better in the fireplace. First, make sure that there is no more embers in the fireplace.

Please do not use electric batteries. We have to charge a fee for their use afterwards.

Sauna:

The sauna warms up in no time. Firewood can be found behind the red shed. Open the sauna dampers (above the water tray) and first heat the water. Be careful not to burn too much wood, so the water does not become boiling hot. Fill the water container with lake water. Fill it to the brim. The sauna is easily heated after heating the water.

Make sure that the hoses do not lean on the hot container. The floor drain easily accumulates garbage, which is why you should sweep the floor whenever it is dry.

Sauna railing is a bit shaky, better not to lean on your full-weight on it.

The lake surface varies a lot during the summer. The bottom of the lake deepens rapidly and is can be 1.5 meters deep at the piers end. If you want to use the rowboat you can find oars from the boathouse ceiling.

Some Practical Guidelines:

The kitchen has an electric kettle, coffee maker, and stove oven. Make sure the mouth of the kettle is off the wall. Thank you for cleaning the oven after use. There is also a baking oven in the fireplace. Since there is no cooker hood in the kitchen, please open the kitchen window when you put food in it, so that moisture does not break the cabinets of the kitchen.

The fireplace next to the sauna offers great barbecue facilities. You'll find coals in a bag leaning the sauna building.

The dish is easiest to do by the sauna next to the water bench

The morning sun rises from the lake. Ventilated quilts and pillows rest on the armchair ready for Your use. Both beds have mosquito nets that can be hung on the ceiling if desired.

If you want to work out, you can groom and water the garden and planting boxes. For gratitude, you can use the rhubarb and apple chips and lettuce on the boat as it grows. Also, goutweed, dandelions and nettles in the garden are at your disposal for cooking :-). Instead, we hope you leave the berries in the plot to be picked by the owner. In the event of a rainy day, there are various club games in the upstairs drawer.

The medicine cabinet is located in the upper cabinet of Tuili. Here you will find basic dressing needs and toiletries. The swings pads can be found on the porch.

Thank you for not smoking indoors or in the immediate vicinity of the cottage.

Recycling:

IMPORTANT! The waste from Villa Tuili is recycled as follows: Bio waste is taken to a compost that is the gray container behind the shed. Plastic sacks, glass and metal (and if desired, cardboard and paper, if you don't want to burn them), will be brought at the end of the week to home or to a recycling point at the end of Graani Shopping Center in Mikkeli. The address is Graanintie 1 and is located along the way towards the south. Graani has Citymarket and Prisma, which make it easy to make food purchases before the cottage week. Please, take your fabric bags with you. Villa Tuili has enough plastic bags for debris. Hieppeentie has a small statutory waste bin that is common with cottage neighbors. It has been jointly agreed that each person recycles waste as carefully as possible. Thus, so-called mixed waste is produced hardly at all.

Good to know:

Electricity might get turned off from the sauna during thunder. The sauna is protected by a fault current switch. Click on the switch on the electrical cabinet inside the upper cabinet on the right after the thunderstorm passes.

It has happened a few times in August that the water ends up from the well. You might notice that if the water doesn't run normally. If this happens, it is important to run quickly to sauna. Outiside, at the sauna wall, there is an electrical cabinet. Switch off the PUMPPU circuit breaker. Then the pump doesn't get heated.

At the End of the Week:

The refrigerator is turned to 0. When leaving, leave the door of the refridgerator open. Quilts and pillows are shaken from the balcony. Floors are swept and broomed at the end. Smaller carpets are shaken. The surfaces are wiped and the dishes are washed. Ash (fireplace, water bath and sauna) are emptied into the gray compost behind the shed. An ashtray is found on the porch. The puucee (toilet) will be emptied by dropping the garbage from behind the stove to the gray compost vessel. On top can be stacked leaves and ashes from the fireplace. Please leave the toilet paper also for the next cottage guests. Turn off the power from the same knob as at the beginning of the week.

❈

On the lake there is a swan couple. You might even see them right on the beach. Villa Tuili is an incredibly peaceful place. We hope you enjoy its silence and spend an unforgettable week there.

If you like the place, you are very welcome again!

If you have a problem or a question, call Laura 050 5122 127 or Marko 041 454 3328.
